We hope everyone had a joyful and sage Christmas. It is certainly the most busiest time at the golf course. Id like to thank all our staff for their contribution over this period.
It can also be a time where some can get a bit “loose”. In certain circumstances this has resulted in a suspension or complete ban from the golf course.
We continue to strive for an all inclusive environment. Which is in our bylaws and below.
The Patrons Code of Conduct (Code) has been developed to help ensure a welcoming and inclusive environment for golfers, their families, visitors and employees. Secret Harbour Golf Links (SHGL) should be a safe, friendly and respectful place free from any form of discrimination, for all golfers, members, employees, visitors and guests to gather in the spirit of cooperation, relaxation, goodwill, fun and friendly competition.
All patrons of SHGL are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the values of golf, club membership, namely: honesty, integrity and camaraderie and sportsmanship and are therefore expected to conduct themselves in a manner that:
1. Complies with the rules of the course, relevant legislation and contractual obligations, and acts in the best interests of SHGL.
2. Be familiar with, and comply with Club policies, procedures and by-laws.
3. Is free of discrimination, bullying or any form of harassment.
4. Shows fairness, respect and dignity to fellow members, employees, guests and visitors.
5. Members to accept responsibility for the behavior of any visitors or guests that they bring or introduce to SHGL.
6. Does not denigrate or direct abuse at employees, members, guests or visitors and does not create conflict and divisiveness.
7. Does not damage the character, reputation, integrity, goodwill, property and community view, (local or broader community) of SHGL. All references posted on social media will be treated as public comment.
8. Refrain from behavior which may bring the good name of SHGL into disrepute.
9. Follows the guidelines set for the care of the course, including but not limited to Conditions of Play.
10. Treats SHGL property with respect.
11. Accepts that Club Management has the sole responsibility for instructing employees, and patrons at SHGL.
12. Is responsible when consuming alcohol and accepts, without complaint, any employee or licensee decision to discontinue the service of alcohol.
